Our Vision
Our goal at Hoffman & Hoffman Worldwide is to improve the lives of the world's poor and disadvantaged through responsible and effective media and public relations. We know that effective communication through mass media is an essential but often misunderstood and underutilized development tool.
At the same time, we recognize that in todays hurried global media environment with newsrooms stretched to their limits -- scores of issues that are important to reducing poverty and improving health in developing countries are being overlooked.
We understand better than anyone else how to integrate global communications strategies into effective development programs. Our strategies create a dialogue among otherwise disparate actors that can greatly enhance the success of programs.
At Hoffman & Hoffman, were a different kind of communication firm. Our projects are successful because we are committed to our clients. We are committed to our clients because our clients are committed to improving conditions around the world.
Core Beliefs
We have developed three core beliefs that drive our business. We have identified these beliefs after years of work with development organizations and multinational corporations:All too frequently, international development programs are instituted with little thought as to how much accurate public knowledge there is about them, which can lead to a domestic misunderstanding of the benefits they will bring. In extreme cases, such misunderstandings can result in public protests that slow project implementation.
Our understanding of media structures in developing countries and intercultural communication can help improve those lines of communication.
Development failures are frequently reported widely in the international press. Meanwhile, when developing countries have been able to successfully grow or stabilize their economies, their successes go underreported. However, when these successes are reported globally, they become a magnet for investment and further development, greatly enhancing the development process.
Our superior press contacts and strong reputation in newsrooms around the world can help achieve that goal.
We recognize that international development should not be the exclusive domain of governments and interstatal organizations. Often times, multinational corporations bring an expertise to the table that no government, multilateral organization or non-governmental organization can match. Today, many major companies are doing much to achieve global development goals through their philanthropy, but many more still need to be encouraged to become better global citizens.
Our unparalleled experience coordinating successful global news announcements in some of the most remote areas in the world can help increase the amount of news coverage that these programs generate.
